A message from our Kids Club leader Sam Boyero:
Most Sunday mornings you’ll find me running our Kids Club here at Essex Church from 11am to noon. We’ve a friendly, small group of youngsters, with ages spreading from 4 to 14, and newcomers are welcome to join us. We have our own activities downstairs – lots of arts and crafts, games, and conversations about things that matter to us. Children get the chance to complete modules for the Unitarian Chalice Award Scheme – with subjects like Diversity, Caring for Our World, Celebrations, and much much more. It’s important to us that children are encouraged to explore their own ideas and beliefs In Kids Club. We take part in the Sunday services sometimes and if you’re musical you’ll be invited to show your talents if you want.
I’m a mum and an Ofsted registered childminder and I found Kensington Unitarians when a friend recommended Essex Church as a place to create a child naming ceremony that would honour our unique child and family. Sarah the minister encouraged us to come up with our own ideas and it was a marvellous celebration of who we are. I really like to see people having such fun in church as we do here.
If you’re thinking of bringing your children to join us on a Sunday morning we encourage you to text our minister on 07960 057567 to check we’re running Kids Club that week and to let us know names and ages.
