walking group

IMPORTANT NOTICE (as of 20th June 2011): We have decided for the time being to discontinue the walking group. Over the last few years we have really enjoyed the walks we have been on, but most of the regular members have had to stop coming; recently walks have been very poorly attended, and we don't like to invite people to travel across London only to find that hardly anyone else has turned up. We hope that from time to time walks will still happen; if anyone is interested, the best course of action seems to be to find three or four other people who would like to go on a walk, then announce it at the previous Sunday's service. In the meantime, the walk on Wimbledon Common on 23rd July has been cancelled. - Caroline Blair

A new walking group was started up in early 2009. From January 2011 we will be meeting once a quarter for an outing in the London area. So far there have been walks along the Thames, in the Greenwich area, Richmond Park, Hampton Court, Denham, the Lee Valley Country Park, Epping Forest, and more. Our routes are usually approximately 5 miles long and we tend to walk at a leisurely pace.

Click here to see some photographs from the walking group's recent outings.

It is essential to let the organiser(s) know in advance if you are planning to come on the walk and, especially during the winter months when nobody likes to be standing around waiting in the cold, to arrive promptly for the advertised start time. Please speak to the named contact person if you would like to come along or contact the church office by emailing walks@kensington-unitarians.org.uk or calling 020 7221 6514 (at least a few days before the planned outing if possible to be sure the message is passed on).
