warden: jenny moy
Our warden, Jenny Moy, takes care of our church building. The warden is also the main point of contact for groups who hire our building for their various activities during the week.
Jenny provided the following information about herself, and her co-warden David Berridge, for the newsletter back in the summer of 2006:
Hello, we're your new Wardens, Jenny Moy and David Berridge. We'll be moving in at the beginning of July and look forward to working with Sarah to bring the building up to date and enable it to be even more well-used and loved. For the last three years we've been living in Bradford-on-Avon, a small town near Bath. Many people in Bradford moved here from London and can't understand why we want to go the other way, but as well as the cultural attractions, it feels like coming home for us, as we both grew up in London and our families still live in Dulwich and Upminster. We moved to Bradford-on-Avon to warden the Quaker Meeting House, a similar job to looking after your church, but on a smaller scale. The Meeting House had just been refurbished, which attracted many new users, raising the Quaker profile in the community (and also raising some much needed funds!). While Jenny was busy with that, David has been working at an organic co-operative cafÚ in the town centre. Working part-time suits both of us, so we're planning to do the Essex Church Wardenship as a jobshare to give us both time for other interests. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us so warmly at the interview and the service on Easter Sunday, and we look forward to meeting the rest of you soon.
