Sunday Afternoon Festive Tea Dance –
LGBTQIA+ and Allies / Gender-Neutral Partnering
Sunday 2nd February 2020 from 2-5pm
(with a dance lesson for beginners from 2.15pm)
Join us for a tea dance with social dancing and actual tea and cake! Come and enjoy a gentle afternoon learning some basic social dancing steps with Rachel Sparks who can teach even the most left-footed people. There will be a beginners’ lesson at 2.15pm to get everyone started and a number of line-dances throughout the afternoon. This is an inclusive event for anyone including LGBTQIA+ people and we ask that everyone is respectful to each other. The partnering at this tea dance is gender-neutral, meaning anyone can lead and anyone can follow, and we are completely body positive. The venue is wheelchair-accessible and has gender-neutral toilets. We ask you not to wear high heels as we need to protect the floor! You are invited to bring your own home-made cakes (clearly labelled), to raise money for our nominated charity, Stonewall Housing. At previous tea-dances we have had a good selection of teatime treats including some vegan options.
Tickets: £15 on the door (free entry to members of Essex Church)
Tea dances take place approximately quarterly and in 2020 they will be on 2nd February, 3rd May, 13th September, 6th December.
